Alignment of the ERWC with the California Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects (CA CCSS for ELA/Literacy)
As of its inception in 2004, the ERWC has been aligned with California’s state standards. Since the 2013 publication of the second edition, the ERWC has been fully aligned with the CA CCSS for ELA/Literacy. Standards relevant to the content and instruction of each module are specified in the left hand column for every element of the ERWC Assignment Template (e.g., Understanding Key Vocabulary; Thinking Critically; Gathering Evidence to Support Your Claims; Revising Rhetorically) as well as in the Teacher Version of each module. . The following correlation charts demonstrate how the ERWC is aligned with the CA CCSS for ELA and Literacy across grades 7-12.
